Reproductive Loss Grief
Care Workshops.

Created by Laura Aguilar Albo, Coeurage is a series of free and secular reproductive loss grief care workshops ideally done in groups, in which we offer individuals of all ages and genders confidential peer support. We offer guidance as people recognize that they are grieving their loss, each one’s own personal way of grieving, specific circumstances of their loss experience, and how these struggles may have impacted their life and relationships.

Overviewed by Dr. Nancy Low MD, FRCP(C), MSc, ABPN, the COEURAGE curriculums engage participants in a journey that can lead them to healing through 8 stages of recovery. By committing to their own grief work, participants will be encouraged to acknowledge and strengthen their capacity for resilience, with the aim of coming to terms with and gaining a sense of closure from the experience.

This program helped dig out of the hole and isolation I had thought I deserved after my loss. It helped me be okay again and even more. I reconciled with myself and the people who I had felt hurt by and who I had hurt too. The program works as hard as the participant does and it certainly was hard work to process the grief associated with the loss. But at the end there is life again and more joyful life and an enthusiasm about the future like never before.

These group sessions are not meant to be therapy of any kind, or counseling sessions, nor a psychological service. The Coeurage curriculums are reproductive grief care programs designed specifically for the participant to acknowledge and strengthen their own capacity of resilience, coming to terms and gaining a sense of closure with the loss experience. All done through guided conversations and peer support.
